Vintage Pair of Chinese Etched Solid Brass Gu Vases on Carved Ebonized Stands
For your consideration we offer a matched pair of Chinese solid brass Gu or beaker vases on carved ebonized stands. Elaborate foliate etching crafted by hand enhances the vases that stand 10" in height (12" total when placed on their stand) on a 3.5 base. The rolled and flared opening expands to 6 in diameter providing both visual interest as well as exceptional versatility for large floral arrangements. Both of the vases are in beautiful condition with no dents, corrosion, prior repairs, or other compromising imperfections found. A hallmark is incised into their bases along with "China" that is engraved to reveal their place of origin. The brass is bright, of excellent quality, and polishes easily to a clear and brilliant luster. A few small spots of tarnish can be found over random areas of the vases but these should polish away with gentle persistence over time. Each vase weighs just under 3 pounds.
